MINOR PROPHETS 1
January 7 – March 25, 2025
7:00-9:00 PM / ZOOM ONLY
Last summer, we did a study on six of the 12 Minor Prophets. The study was titled Minor Prophets 2. In this Minor Prophets 1 study we will study the lives and insight of the remaining 6. Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah and Micah. Each of the twelve have distinctive messages on the future history of Israel and the kingdom of God. These writings will secure our confidence in the sovereignty of God and the hope we have for the future.
Amos: A prophecy of judgment against the nations of Israel and Judah, as well as against the surrounding nations. Like Joel, Amos warns of punishment punished for their sins. But also that God will one day restore His people to Himself.
Obadiah: A prophecy of judgment against the nation of Edom.for rejoicingd in the destruction of Jerusalem. Obadiah warns Edom it faces certain judgment.
Jonah: The story of Jonah, who waffles on a direct comand from God. Circumstances get his attention and Jonah completes the task, but with a touch of self-centeredness.
Micah: A prophecy of judgment against the nations of Israel and Judah, as well as against the surrounding nations. The book ends with a vision of the coming of the Messiah. Very much like we saw in Malachi.

IS GOD DONE WITH ISRAEL?
There is a growing menace in the church, Replacement Theology. The recent attack on Israel and subsequent outrage against them for defending themselves, has revealed that antisemitism is not bubbling under the surface anymore, rather, it’s exploding here in America and across the globe. Isaiah 5:20 says, ” Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

VERSE OF THE DAY
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
A TIME TO GRIN…
When you get to your wit’s end, you’ll find God lives there.
