The SPECTRUM OF PROPHECY

When we study prophecy we very often are given a dual vision.  The first focusing on something in the near generations of the prophet.  The second speakingof something in the distant future.  An Old Testament writing may look at an imminent political event and speak of the  coming Messiah.  Another writing may look at current events and then give great insight on the end times.  The chart below can help us see across the landscape of prophetic timelines.

Clarence Larkin (1850–1924) was an American Baptist pastor, Bible teacher and author whose writings on dispensationalism had a great impact on conservative Protestant visual culture in the 20th century. His intricate and influential charts provided readers with a visual strategy for mapping God’s action in history and for interpreting complex biblical prophecies. (Wikipedia)
